cruelty

The theme in this story is cruelty because the slavetrader is incredibly cruel to all of the slaves in the story. There is a lot of slavery in the story and barely any happiness. An example of cruelty in the story is when all of the slave children got taken away from their parents. Another example is when Ben, Lester and Adam got chained to the back of the wagon.

    I think that everyone has an the right to be free and not traded and sold to do work for people who could do it themselves.Also because of the amount of blacks they could have retaliated.But because they were so scared they didn't try and suffered consequences of cruel pain.
